This is what could be a very interesting textbook for those interested in fashion, design and even costuming. The ideas are explained well, whether you are familiar with the field or not. Terms and thoughts are defined so that you will know what they mean. Techniques are given; finding the right silhouette, types of jackets and skirts, construction and the collection. There are simple diagrams, showing the products and ideas such as fashion lengths. This makes fashion fascinating by good photos, diagrams and the text, ending with the fashion show and back stage.
There are pictures of drawings and sewing equipment in an appendix, also a dictionary of materials and machines, a glossary and a fashion directory of shops and suppliers, fashion schools, their addresses, phone numbers and web sites
If you are a student or `fan' of fashion, of clothes design, even in the field of arts this book will be of interest to you. It shows much that anyone could find of appeal about this area. This can also give you a new respect for the fashion industry.
