This book covers both mathematical and non-parametric modeling of dynamic systems. I think the best chapters of this book are related to system identification and the concept about how to validate models.

This is the one you must have to understand modeling of dynamic systems from the mathematical and system identification point of view.

Another Edge Of Your Seat Vampire Thriller!!!

I can't tell you how excited I was to get my hands on this book! I loved the first book in the series, The Emerald Talisman, and the second book did not disappoint! The Sapphire Talisman had me hooked from the get go. The story picks up with Julia and Nicholas trying to have as 'normal' a life as possible after the events at the end of the last book. Normalcy doesn't come easy for them considering Nicholas is a vampire slayer and half vampire himself and Julia is an empath and a MAJOR vamp magnet! However, the two of them are taking advantage of this lull in vamp activity and enjoying spending time together. But like all good things... it must come to an end. It doesn't take long for evil to rear is vampiric head or for Julia to draw it right to them! An old enemy has returned and Julia and Nicholas are once again thrust into another round of good vs. evil. The stakes are higher this time and the lines become blurred between the two sides in a jaw-dropping kinda way! I was super-excited to see some of my favorite characters from The Emerald Talisman make a return in this book. I won't spoil the surprise and tell you who returns, but I will say that one in particular was completely unexpected and 100% AWESOME!!! Brenda definitely keeps you guessing this time. The plot is full of twist and turns and 'I can't believe that just happened' kind of moments. The pace was quick and there was no lack of action or suspense. The characters, especially Julia, did some growing up in this book and we learned some valuable family history concerning both Julia and Nicholas. The characters also showed more depth, which allowed a greater connection with them while reading. The ending offered closure to some pretty big questions, leaving me satisfied. But like all good series, new questions arise that can only be answered in the final Talisman Series installment titled, The Onyx Talisman- which is due out in late 2011! Kudos to Brenda for writing another edge of your seat thriller that will have you swooning and biting your nails at the same time! If you haven't read this book yet.... What are you waiting for?

A Much Better Second

I found the The Sapphire Talisman to be much better in almost every way than the first book of this series. The plot was better and more exciting and the characters were more interesting. We get to know Julia much better in this one and I like her. She's strong, brave and caring for her friends and family. Her love for Nicholas makes much more sense and their relationship is more realistic. BUT, I don't like what happens to him. That's not a fault or flaw of the book - that's just how the story goes. I just wished better for him. I hope he pulls out of it because if he doesn't, I'm afraid I won't like him. Pandos did a much better job on this one in all regards and I look forward to reading the last book of the trilogy.

A Great Sequel

After reading The Emerald Talisman, I've been eagerly awaiting The Sapphire Talisman, the sequel, because I couldn't wait to see what would happen next to Julia and Nicholas. Thankfully, when I finally did get the chance to read The Sapphire Talisman, it turned out to be everything I was expecting and even more. It was seriously even better than its prequel, something that doesn't usually happen that often in series.

The Sapphire Talisman continues shortly after The Emerald Talisman left off. Julia and Nicholas' secret relationship is better than ever and everything has mostly returned back to normal. Though, soon enough, everything turns upside down once again when Alora makes yet another grand appearance. This time she's meaner than ever, and promises to wreck not only Julia and Nicholas' relationship, but the characters themselves. Will they fight back and win? Will secrets be reveled? Only time will tell in this spectacular follow-up to The Emerald Talisman.

Character develepment! It was present in nearly every character and relationship in this book, and that was something that I was not only grateful for but also one of my favorite parts of the book, because I loved finding out more about Nicholas and his mysterious past, as well as Alora's coven and Julia's family. I also liked the new "hat" Julia wore in this book because not only was she fearless and brave but she stood on her own quite nicely, instead of hanging on Nicholas's every word. Plus I loved the tension between her and Nicholas and a surprise guest. It always kept me on the edge of my chair curious to see what would occur next.

Anohter part of this novel I enjoyed was the plot. For one, it was even more action packed and develeped than in in The Emerald Tailsman, and for two, it forever left me on the tips of my toes with all the twist and turns it mangaged to pack in between the charactes and their relationships.

Brenda's writing was also even better in this book. As mentioed before she did a fablous job with develepment. Plus her transitions and pace were both great!

In all, The Sapphire Talisman is defitnely one of the best sequels I've read in a long time, and I can't wait to see what Brenda has in store for all of her readers next!

Excellent books in better condition than expected

George In All His Unvarnished Glory

I bought this book because I love George S. Patton, and love reading about him. This book covers most of his life, the not so dramatic history making part. It contains diary and personal journal entries & letters with accompanying biographical text. Some of it's very mundane, and the earliest parts, well they are a bit of a bore. However, as the book progresses so does the man. Ok, so who cares that when he was a teenager he liked candy and ate too much of it? You see him grow from a boy to a man, in the process he becomes a very good writer. His descriptions of events and activities that occur during his life and early career are really very good. How primitive some of those Army outposts were. Traveling into Mexico to chase Pancho Villa, his descriptions of General Pershing, all very vivid.
I have always had a BIG CRUSH on Patton. He was Matinee Idol handsome in his youth, I mean such physical perfection (what can I say? He would not have had to ask me twice!). To my dismay, reading this book illustrated that he was not a very nice person. A social snob, conceited, self absorbed, selfish, tactless. Imagine your husband writing you that he had been propositioned by a prostitute "but told her no". Really, man? Wow.
Also, regarding the birth of his first child, "some dastardly person said it looked like me, which cannot be true because it is so ugly". NICE!!!!
Also the endlessly disparaging remarks about those fellow soldiers that were socially inferior. He spends a great deal of time looking down on his fellow man, cursing as he so charmingly puts it "the unwashed masses". Well, gee whiz, we all cant be born with a silver spoon in our mouths, but to him, they were the only people who "mattered"
That what makes this book so interesting, you get to see this monumental figure warts and all. As I said before, he is really good at describing people places and things. He is equally good at endlessly putting his foot in his mouth, he had no filter, or common sense when dealing with people.
I really enjoyed this book, and if you are a fan of General Patton, and want to know ALL the details of his life, give this book a try..

KGEBETLI MOELE has been a writer since he started high school. He currently lives in Pretoria, and is studying through Unisa. Moele’s debut novel, Room 207, was published by Kwela Books in 2006. It was short-listed for the Commonwealth Writer’s Prize for Best First Book (Africa) in 2007. It was the joint-winner of the Herman Charles Bosman Prize for English fiction as well as joint-winner of the University of Johannesburg Prize for Creative Writing in the debut category. Un gran libro y una excelente maestra

Primero que nada quiero mencionar que he sido alumno de Donna Eden y de David Feinstein por a�os, Tom� su Certificaci�n en Medicina Energ�tica y clases avanzadas.
Siendo originario de M�xico me di cuenta que hab�a un gran vac�o. El libro "energy medicine" se hab�a traducido a muchos idiomas pero no al espa�ol.
Es incre�ble ver que despu�s de tanto tiempo por fin el mundo de habla hispana tiene acceso a un libro que se convertir� en un cl�sico en m�todos alternativos con ejercicios simples de hacer que traen cambios extraordinarios.

Comenc� a estudiar con Donna cuando tuve una enfermedad que la medicina tradicional no pudo curar, ahora contra todos pron�sticos estoy curado y viviendo una vida plena. Escribo sobre energ�a en el blog caminoalinterior.wordpress.com donde compart� muchos de los ejercicios aprendidos en los cursos de Donna y que ahora est�n por fin al alcance con este fant�stico libro.

Hay algunos errores en la traducci�n pero lo m�s importante son las t�cnicas presentadas y que puedo asegurar funcionan (siempre y cuando uno las haga).
