One of Araki's best....

This is one of Araki's best photo books and probably his most personal. It splits into two parts: Sentimental Journey (センチメンタルな旅) and Winter Journey (冬の旅). The first part is photos of his wife from their honeymoon and the second part is a chronicle of her final days before her death. There are many people who don't like Araki's work due to the bulk of it being erotic photography, but this book is a must read for anyone interested in photography. It's written in Japanese so if you can't read then you might not be able to figure out details, but the images speak enough for themselves that you should be able to figure out what's happening.

Araki deals with both love and loss so eloquently. I don't think I've ever encountered a work so personal and moving. This is a photographic diary and should be read with that in mind. That doesn't mean there aren't any strong images, though. Among the many snapshots that compose this book are several incredibly moving shots. The images are also sequenced very well. What we are presented with is a record dealing with Araki's pain and suffering and loss, but we are also shown his acceptance and closure associated with the bad things in his life and the love that he held for his wife.

I don't think I have anything bad to say about this book.. It's even made extremely well. The book is a red hardcover and comes with sleeve with the title and other info.

I don't usually write reviews, but I must say that I have a new found respect for Araki as a person and an artist after reading this. Highly recommended.

Ok, I don't know japanese and google translate can't help too but the power of the images and the deep feelings they can bring you..... find it by yourself.

Drawing on a wide range of material, the authors cover both theory and practical applications. The book breaks down fluid mechanics into key definitions and specific properties and then uses these pieces to construct a solid foundation for analyzing biofluid mechanics in both normal and diseased conditions.

I read the first edition of this book. It is excellent. It provides a systematic approach/ It covers fluid mechanics: steady flow, unsteady flow, viscoelastic properties of tissues, Windkessel and more sophisticated models of the circulation.

It provides clear examples and figures from the in-vitro and in-vivo data.

The section of valve physiology and pathophysiology was excellent. The discussion on prosthetic valves, grafts and other vascular scaffolds was very instructive, clearly written with illuminating figures.

The book ends with discussion of measurement techniques: pressure, flow, velocity including discussions of doppler echocardiography, magnetic resonance imaging, computer fluid dynamics.

I hope the subsequent editions continue in this tradition and I look forward to seeing them.

I'm so glad I came across this book..

This book was recommended to me by a relative of Dee's: one of my early managers - so I was curious to see what it was about. I started reading it in early January and found I was learning so many useful things that I'm reading it very slowly (it's now the end of February!) so that I can practice what I'm learning. I've just completed the first master class in the book and it has given me lots of new business offering ideas which I've already added to my website as well as exploring with my Associates. It's very readable and makes this whole area seem so simple. I'm finding myself recommending this as a must-have book for people who are not comfortable with the 'selling' part of their business!

This book is truly a valuable resource. Dee presents a great wealth of information on all aspects important to small businesses. The tips are shared in a non-technical and very usable way. The examples included are also extremely helpful. I will refer back to this book often!

I'm not much for reading nonfiction, nor am I usually fond of military stories. I volunteered to review this book, because it was needed. I have to admit that I'm glad I did read it, because it warmed my heart.

The main question to this book is, "Does God still work miracles today as He did in the Bible?" A Time for Everything details how God worked two miracles in Kevin's life. More important, we learn how God brought Kevin to the point in his life where miracles could happen. After reading this book, the author hopes that readers will be able to recognize the many times God has worked miracles in their lives, too.

Through the author, Michael L. White, we are shown Kevin's great faith, and his walk with the Lord. He has made some mistakes along the way, but as his faith grows, and he understands what he needs to do in order to make that happen, we can identify with his struggles and with his triumphs.

A Time for Everything is a good, uplifting read. If you like true stories, real heroes, and a dose of miracles, you'll love A Time for Everything.

A Man of True Faith

I was Kevin Zimmerman's Commanding Officer when the I Corps Deputy Commanding General presented him with his SECOND Soldier's Medal for heroism. Kevin is an inspirational figure: I have never met a Christian with a purer faith. Kevin Zimmerman truly believed that God guided his feet over those minefields. Because he had true faith, he was able to do things others could not do, and to go places they feared to go. This is what true faith can do for a man. As such, it is truly an inspirational story, and one that should not be forgotten. And I know it to be true. I believe this book will lift your life.

Kevin, self-described, as far less than an angel makes not one but two walks through minefields to treat injured soldiers. There seems to be no hesitation in the medic's mind each time he lands to treat and remove soldiers blown to pieces in an area full of land mines. Read this book to get an actual on the ground account of war and the multiple miracles that allowed Kevin to assist his badly wounded compatriots.
