This is a nice book and provides some background into fashion ads through the years. I bought it to acquire more ideas for my visual projects with the goal of gaining at least 1 new idea. I achieved this goal.

The book is not expensive and it is thick and also looks good in your art library. Comes with a built in red page marker also.

Great assortment of Ad History and nostalgia!

We had one of these in our room at an upscale hotel in Dallas, and thought it would make a great coffee table book. Regardless of your age, these ads will either bring back memories, or if nothing else educate you on the marketing approach of the times with very familiar products. I am not a "marketing" person, actually an Accountant, and if this impressed me, it should impress anyone !

It's like having a personal make up artist!!

I found the girls of Pixiwoo a little over 5 years ago, and I haven't stopped watching them since. Their tutorials are fabulously balanced with their professional knowledge and their simple and straight forward manner. I always feel as though I am sitting across the table from a favorite girlfriend learning how to do a new make up look. This book is full of needed information (I will learn to do my brows, I swear it!), and sounds just like they do in their videos, with a tone that is warm, friendly, and really caring that I know how to look my best!
The photos are fabulous and the information is timeless. Well done girls!!!

Best Beauty Book on the Market, just because ordering from Amazon because they messed up my order 3 times!

I've been wanting this book since it was announced by Pixiwoo! Now I will say that it took forever to get here and I had to reorder it 3 times because of problems with Amazon, but I finally received it and I absolutely love it! I've been a HUGE Fan of the Pixiwoo sisters for years and this book is a masterpiece by them! If you love makeup, beauty, skincare and all things pretty you're going to love this book. I also love the app that comes along with it, it's very interactive and fun to see all the hidden Gems that come along with the book itself. It's beautifully laid out and the information/pictures are perfect for any makeup/beauty lover in your life or for yourself! Just be careful because Amazon did mess up the order a few times.

Great for beginners!

I'll preface this review by saying that I love the Pixiwoo sisters and regularly watch their YouTube channel. I love makeup and the art of applying it. While I enjoyed this book, it is definitely more suitable for those that are just beginning to apply makeup and want to learn techniques. As someone who is quite experienced in makeup application, this book wasn't as valuable to me, but was an enjoyable read all the same.

Read this in 2 days!

Thoroughly enjoyed this delightful tale of a spunky young woman who finds herself in over her head. The child of not-so-futuristic colonist parents, she winds up imbroiled in politics and power struggles she could not possibly prepare for. Fast-paced and entertaining, the world of a Martian colony is alive with color, seething with resentment and surprisingly close.

I'm looking forward to sharing this with my Middle School students!

Fantastic book, was looking for some sci-fi for my 14-year-old daughter that had some substance to it. Excellent story, and I particularly liked the lead character - strong, likable and gutsy girl, and far from the usual cliches usually trotted out for 'the female role model'. Great work all round.

Interesting view of Mars colonization

Jodi Scarfield is a computer geek and a hacker. If you disregard hacking part, she is just an ordinary girl: goes to school, hangs out with her best friend etc. But then Jodi and her mother move to colony on planet Mars where her father works, and she becomes 'little Earth girl'. The book is very good in describing problems that happen when moving to a unknown environment. New school, society rules and customs, food, religion, politics,...

The differences between two planets are many: from obvious one like two moons to weird ones like 5 minute limited daily shower. Although the book is short, very much attention is dedicated to the world building and I loved reading about Mars culture and how human society evolved there.

Unfortunately, shortage of pages can be felt at the end of the book because the culmination and ending are rushed. Actions of characters are not enough explained in last chapters and the aftermath has a couple of holes in my opinion. It's a pity because that's what lowered my rating from 5 to 4 stars.

I recommend this book to: ya sf fans and lovers of novels about colonies on other worlds.

Great content but poor editing...

I'm currently taking a Psychology class and this is our assigned text book. The content of the book is great and I have a greater understanding of Psychology now. Unfortunately, the editing of the book is poor, especially the review sections at the end of each chapter. Bottom line: the answers in the back of the book are not always correct. If you're going to be tested on the material in this book, I strongly suggest that you study the content of the chapters and NOT the answers found in the back of the book.

A perfect supplement to main text

I was lucky enough to have Dr. Melucci as my psychology professor at Santa Monica College a couple years ago. She's very knowledgeable and breaks everything down into understandable terms. I honestly enjoyed coming to her class because she always made it interesting. I would definitely recommend Psychology: The Easy Way to anyone taking an introductory psychology course.

About the Author
Joann Keyton (B.A., Western Michigan University; M.A., Ph.D., The Ohio State University) is Professor of Communication at North Carolina State University. She specializes in group communication and organizational communication. Her current research examines the collaborative processes and relational aspects of interdisciplinary teams, participants’ use of language in team meetings, the multiplicity of cultures in organizations, and how messages are manipulated in sexual harassment. Her research is fi eld focused and she was honored with the 2011 Gerald PhillipsAward for Distinguished Applied Communication Scholarship by the National Communication Association. Her research has been published in Business Communication Quarterly, Communication Studies, Communication Theory, Communication Yearbook, Journal of Applied Communication Research, Journal of Business Communication, Management Communication Quarterly, Small Group Research, Southern Communication Journal, and numerous edited collections including the Handbook of Group Communication Theory and Research and the Handbook of Organizational Communication. In addition to publications in scholarly journals and edited collections, she has published three textbooks for courses in group communication, research methods, and organizational culture in addition to co-editing an organizational communication case book. Keyton was editor of the Journal of Applied Communication Research, Volumes 31–33, and founding editor of Communication Currents, Volumes 1–5. Currently, she is�ditor of Small Group Research. About the Author
Basile, a Chemical Engineer, is a senior Researcher at the ITM-CNR where is responsible of the researches related to both the ultra-pure hydrogen production CO2 capture using Pd-based Membrane Reactors. Angelo Basile’s h-index is 36, with 187 document results (April 1st, 2016, www.scopus.com). He has 130 scientific papers in peer to peer journals and 230 papers in international congresses; editor/author of 27 scientific books and 80 chapters on international books on membrane science and technology; 6 Italian patents, 2 European patents and 5 worldwide patents. He is referee of 92 international scientific journals and Member of the Editorial Board of 18 of them. Basile is also Editor associate of the Int. J. Hydrogen Energy and Editor-in.-chief of the Int. J. Membrane Science & Technol. and Editor-in-chief of Membrane Processes (Applications), a section of the international journal Membranes: Basile also prepared 25 special issues on membrane science and technology for many international journals (IJHE, Chem Eng. J., Cat. Today, etc.). He participated to and was/is responsible of many national and international projects on membrane reactors and membrane science. Basile served as Director of the ITM-CNR during the period Dec. 2008 - May 2009. In the last years, he was tutor of 30 Thesis for master and Ph.D. students at the Chemical Engineering Department of the University of Calabria (Italy). Form 2014, Basile is Full Professor of Chemical Engineering Processes.
